I did actually start off sketching many years before joining the Artists' Group, and I've always drawn since I was a kid.

Illustrations

As well as painting and drawing I also write. So as soon as I had the opportunity to illustrate my own books, you can imagine that I leapt at the chance. I wrote a series of books reviewing episodes and series of the TV show Doctor Who: - here's a selection of images I created for some of the covers: -

 These three were made with charcoal, while the next is in graphite pencil.

The majority of images I've used, though, are made in biro. This is partly because I actually rather enjoy sketching in biro, but also because it does tend to scan far better than pencil does. Here's a selection of the biro images I've used: -
